Default Got a Good Grain Recipe

I found this grain recipe for my African Nightcrawlers.Makes them fat and with some vegtable peels pretty healthy also.
    2 cups oatmeal
    1cup cornmeal
12 eggshells can be off hardboiled or raw eggs
Throw it all in a blender or food processer and grind it up like a powder.Or just put it in a zip lock bag and crush it up with a rolling pin.Sprinkle it on the surface of the bed every day or two. You'll see when it is gone to feed them.

I haven't used the oatmeal, but everything else you mentioned in feeding my new worms. I had a few "local" ones I was experimenting with, but in addition to what you use, I add a cup of calcium carbanate & crushed alfala pellets. Today I added some watermelon rhine that I ran thru the food processor. Funny, I use this same receipe to feed our crickets.:D I can put this down in the cricket cage and they will drop off the walls and go right to it! It is something to watch... I tell everyone when they buy our crickets, "these guys are so zipped up ..they will chase the fish!!

I will have to add the oatmeal and crushed eggshells to my Red Worms as soon as I go get some more. What do the egg shells do? Just curious. Thanks

The crushed eggshells keep the PH level in your bed near nuetral.Meaning anything acidic might kill your worms, like tomatoes.

I juiced up some watermelon rines this evening and added that. As long as there are melons, those make a good food additive plus water intake. I read where egg shells furnished calcium. So I put crushed egg shells in one bin and the "store bought" calsium carb to the other one. Seeing which will be better or worse.

Crickets and red wigglers go "ape" over watermelon, cantalope, peaches and any other high sugar content fruit. Crickets REALLY love oranges.
