Default Bank Rod holder on a cooler

Have you every gotten tired of looking for a stick to prop up your rod while bank fishing? Or worse yet, having a rod holder but the ground is way to hard to drive it in? I solved that problem by using gate hardware to mount rod holders to my cooler and minnow bucket. The weight of the water and fish inside keeps it from tipping ove in case you really catch the big one. It takes less than 10 seconds to place the rod holder in the space provided and you are fishing. Just a thought in case some of you are having the same problems and want to build one for yourself too.

Tie on a lure and go get them.

Thanks crappieseeker and David. This idea is for the bank fishermen out there who fish for Bluegill, Shellcracker, and crappie. I saw an old man try for over a half hour to get his rod holder to stay in the ground. I had caught about ten fish before he got his rod holder fixed. A lot of folks do not have fancy boats or any boat and are shore bound. This idea is for them and for me too. I like the laid back shore fishing trips now. I like my idea too.

    Nice setup Ship.

For saltwater and catfish I take 1" angle aluminum bolted to a section of 2" PVC and drive them in the ground/sand. Works good for the bigger fish.
