Dang Stink, you managed to mention more taboo subjects in one post than I've ever seen here on C.Com! I don't see this topic lasting long!
That said, I couldn't agree more!:D
Once again, the American people will step up and even in the tough times of a recession, give from their hearts and wallets to the people along the gulf related to the oil spill.
I commend these efforts but in all honesty, cannot support the telethon because The United Way is involved and will be one of the main recipients of funds collected.
United Way collected millions and millions from the fund raisers after 9/11 and guess what they did with the money intended for victims of 9/11? They sat on it as long as they could reaping the interest money and that money went into their general fund.
Many folks do not realize that The United Way supports Planned Parenthood and that organization promotes abortion. So, in a nutshell, money given to The United Way ends up being used by Planned Parenthood to kill innocent babies in the womb.
Most of the celebrities in tonight's telethon are leftist-liberal types that endorse an America quite different than the America our founding fathers created. They want all mention of God removed and they want this country turned into a secular nation.
They promote national socialism in which all wealth is equally shared for every individual in this land. Hard working people that make money should give part of their money to lazy characters that stand in every line they can find for welfare and other government hand-outs.
All these social programs enacted by congress to benefit the poor end up helping the parasites more than the actual people that need a hand.
If you want to help the victims along the gulf coast I suggest giving your donation to the Salvation Army which has a proven track record of actually helping the unfortunate in their time of need. They do more with each dollar given that all these other organizations combined.
United Way cuts into each dollar given and takes a portion for "administrative" costs and only a fraction of that dollar ends up in the hands of needy victims. How else can United Way pay all the huge salaries for the big shots that run United Way.
You'll see millions of dollars donated tonight on the CNN/LarryKing telethon and trust me, only a fraction of that money will ever be used for what the kind-hearted people giving their money intended.
One more thing, a lot of that money will be used for animal relief and that's ok, our animal friends deserve the care, but what irks me is that animals and wetlands will reap more benefits than human beings. This is exactly what the tree-huggers love because they place more value on animals than human beings.........especially unborn babies.

ROFLMAO, that's what I was thinking while I was reading his post.
Too many non-profits these days keep a huge majority of the money they are gifted with. Saw a news segment a while back about the State's Law Enforcement Associations outsourcing their fundraising. It went on to say how these companies keep 80% of the funds collected and give the Law Enforcement associations the other 20%. This is one reason I no longer donate to these type of organizations.
Thanks Stink for keeping the torch lit!
CNN is nothing more than an "Infotainment" channel with it's high paid actors force feeding agendas to the viewers. If you want real investigative reporting google or Youtube GregPalast.com you will quickly realize why he's not on the mainstream media.

You got it right Stink!

Bravo Stink, Bravo:D I had a solicitation this morning for a law enforcement donation. I told the person/machine that I would talk to my law enforcement friends directly about the donation and it insisted that that they would send a donation letter. I told them no and finally just hung up.
I wasnt aware that United Way was associated with things of that sort. Thanks for informing.
You are sooo right Stink. Thanks for your post.
That's because they really don't want the general public to know. Another inert fact some might find interesting;
Progressive Insurance Company is a large contributor to the campaigns of liberal candidates for public office. You've seen their television advertisements; The ding-a-ling waitress type gal selling insurance while dressed like some floosy at a truckstop?
Even their name, "Progressive" gives a clue to what they represent.
Lotsa folks don't realize what a gigantic move is underway in our country by various organizations to change our nation into a secular God-ignoring country. They try to portray Christians as dummies and illiterates.
Anyway, back to the topic of this thread; I find it odd that the telethon is trying to raise money to help with the clean up and finances of the people along the gulf.
Isn't BP responsible for those expenses? 100% of those expensives?
So why ask the public to make donations? Sadly, many people will give their hard-earned cash during the telethon and I can see kids going into their little savings account to donate money. They feel sorry for the birds and want to do their fair share.
Once again, BP should pay for it all.

Stink - Its not about the oil and the birds, its about making money over someones tragedy. Shoot I wouldn't be surprised to hear about a fundraiser to help the people in OKC that got wiped out from the flooding. I SURE don't expect to geta check from any organization. If you saw my bridge damage you would gasp and shake your head. Pictures dont even come close to give you an idea of the actual loss.
