    Default Silver & Blue

This is what I call one of my new jigs I first used this spring on a Roadrunner with a marabou tail and was really a good one. Oh and yeah that Roadrunner had a Nichol Plate Head like this 1/16 Oz. jig does.

So tell me what you think? Would appreciate any opinions and or thoughts.

    skiptomylu,
That Silver-Blue looks like a winner.
Are you going to try it in this heat or ease out after dark?

I guess both, but it was a hit here in the Spring once the water cleared a little more. I was using the Chart/Blue/Chart for a good while, but then they started leaving it alone some or slowed down on hits. So went to Silver/Blue/White and did good again, but then coming back from town one day I just though since I got that chenille in and wanted to try it that would a good opportunity. So tied one and went out and boy they couldn't leave it alone and I caught a lot over then next week or so on that same jig. They about wore the marabou tail out, but still will work.

I bet though under lights it would work well and maybe shallow on the edges of the light when they start coming up getting the shad. Sounds like it could work for sure.

I have not been since that and it's still tied on my pole.

I like it. Here lately I've been boning up for today's tourney (took third) and tipping plastic jigs w/minnows. Odd thing was that a;ll my lighter or brighter color jigs got NO response, but the darker colors, some baby bass, and natural imitation colors were the ticket. A few more weeks they'll be heading deeper and I'll start jigging with something like this. Sharp lookin jig with good use of the flash.

    Thanks,
Skeet I start out darker than I end spring for sure. Sometimes early I can use something like FL Red/Black& Fl yellow var./Hot Orange marabou tail, but once that water starts to get where I can see down 2', the Chart/Blue/Chart is my fav, but when I can see 3' or more down I have to go to Silver/Blue/White or something like the one in this thread. This was my first year for this combo and only use one Roadrunner and they just about ate the tail off. It really thin now, LOL! Lots of other colors I like and use, but these are my colors that I have confidence in. Well I left one old one off...FL Red/Kelly Green/FL Yellow is great at times.

A newbie here. I notice you like longer tails than most tyers; is that because it gives the jig more action? Do you notice more short hits with the longer tail? Your jigs look super and have given me lots of ideas in my jig tying like thiner and longer tails. Thank You, MuskyGary
