freecycle.org- freestuff
There is an organization that aims to keep good usable stuff out of the landfills called freecycle.org. They are affiliated with yahoo, but I've been on there for a few years and never got spammed. There are local chapters for every state and it's been a real cool thing for me, as cheap as I am. The idea is that if you have something too good to throw away, but can't use it anymore, you post it on a freecycle.org site. It's great to peruse what's available too.
