    Default Roosevelt, June 3-4-5

Fished for crappie at Roosevelt two nights and didn't do very well. Five crappie all night long one night and a few bluegill. The next night, one crappie. Very disappointing. Early in the morn and late in the evening, the bass are boiling and hitting the shad. I had about 45 minutes to figure out what bait to use and then it was non-stop bass catching. Caught one 19" bass while the rest were all slots. Lots of fun, but I wanted the crappie.

Gonna hit Patagonia Tuesday, June 15th with one of my grandson's. He's eight years old.

Hope you guys and gals are doing better than me on crappie. Ever since Rosey filled up, the crappie are hard to catch in the quantities of the past in my humble opinion of course.

    Later,

    Gary

I was fishing at the Salt end near School House Point. Have you been having any luck?

Me and a buddy fished across from schoolhouse last night. We caught 2 crappie and one small catfish. Very disappointing for my first trip to rosy. We threw out minnows, shad, worms, jigs, scents, nibbles, spoons, cranks, even some corn LOL! We were out there until 2:30am. Man, sometimes I think this night fishing thing requires a secret decoder ring or something.

Sometimes moving 50 feet can fix that problem.

With the lake being up so high,it's really hard to say where they are.Don't worry though, once you find where they are, it will be on.
