    Default bucksaw 6/4-6/6

my 11yr. old son and i just got back today after a great weekend at truman. arrived friday afternoon in time for some fishing. found some around cedars but not much. had heard they were shallow around willows so tried there and caught a few shorts. saturday and sunday we hit the willows hard and man we hit them hard. limits both days with several 12-14 in fish. my son was going crazy. counting the shorts we probably caught 50 fish each day. minnows seemed to be the ticket. fished with a bobby garland jig, bumble bee, and did good on that also. we fished in 6-9 ft of water. heard they are going to start running water so this pattern will probably change.

ran into hookin&cookin at the cleaning station and had a good talk. first time we had met.

sorry no pictures but i do need to learn how to post them.

They have been running water for 2 weeks. Sounds like you squeezed one more day out of the green stuff.

All this rain today and what is in the forecast may bring the lake back up and prolong the "green stuff" bite a bit longer.

Got a solid 3" last night. It's headed for Truman, be there in a day or two.
I'll smoke just about anything (in my smoker)
The fishing is always great. The catching varies.
