    Default cork handle dry rot


    the cork on one of my rods is starting to dry rot. is there anything i can put on it to save it from getting completely trashed? and any tips for keeping them in good condition.

    Rub some cooking oil into it. Not much just a little. That should take care of the problem. Make sure to wipe it off good to when you finish applying it. If it is to far gone then just replace it they are not very expensive at all. And it is not real hard to do either. Ron

    hey, a lot of our band instruments have cork. We use cork grease on them to keep the cork from dry rotting. Comes in a tube the size of lip gloss. Cost $0.50 at any music store.
