Angry What the Cob is going on with our beloved Big 12???

Not sure if everyone is following the rumer mill on all the changes that could be happening with our beloved teams. I for one kinda hope they don't happen. I wish the old big 8 teams would stay together but it looks like the winds of change are blowing to hard to stop now. Between the rumors and scandles of the off season I am just ready for the kids to get back out on the field and play some football. But we still have 3 months till all is right in the world again.
It's not duck season so I have to do something... :D

From what I have heard there will be no Big 12 in 3 yrs. KU and KSU have been to patient on this whole thing and are gonna be left out of a BCS conference. Not good for either of our programs. KU basketbalan stand alone and still be a national power but all of our other teams are gonna struggle to get top notch talent in if we end up in the Mountain West or Conf USA.

Well I guess Bebe's gonna force Missouri and Nebraska's hands. Issues them a deadline to state their intentions. B10 gets a football only school in the huskers as lets face it They are always feeding off the bottom in basketball. Missouri has a better balance and a basketball coach who would have to hate playing in the B10 so he'll leave at the next oppurtunity. Also Missouri has never really won anything outside of a north football championship. They are where they belong I mean who cares about Ohio State feasting on them every couple of years

The report that I am getting from the inside tell that the Big 10 offered ND and ND has said that if they come to the B10 then they want to be the only new school allowed in this year. So the NU and MU move has been put on hold and almost squashed but the the Pack 10 invite of the entire south is very much in play. I heard directly from a Regent and he said that KU and KSU will be in the same conference where ever they end up if the big 12 is blown up. The cool part is the big 12 keeps their atomatic BCS bid either way and give the remaining teams a lot of fire power in getting new schools and bring 4 to 6 new teams in to the new conference.

I just read a new article on espn.com that said the PAC 10 commish got approval from the current members to expand and they will do so before the end of the year. If the entire south goes and we are left with the north it will be interesting to see what happens. Even if we lose no teams and just ND goes I do not see any teams worthwhile wanting to come to the Big 12. KU is in a terrible position with the ticket scandal up in the air and not knowing who our AD will be in 2 wks. Our conference leadership is a joke. We always follow and never lead. I highly doubt that college sports will ever be the same come 2012.

I've heard its only texas, texas a/m, olkahoma, and olk state being offered by the pac 10. The dissapointing thing is its about money. TCU would be a nice addn.

Colorado was also on that list originally. However, the Texas legislature is trying to get Baylor in instead of Colorado. Its all fubar'd. In the end I hope ND goes to the Big Televen and the B12 stays intact. Then we can atleast make it until our network tv deal can be renegotiated and hopefully improve the conference's draw financially.

Default Only song fitting... I guess it's over.

    A long, long time ago...
    I can still remember
How that music used to make me smile.
And I knew if I had my chance
That I could make those people dance
And, maybe, they’d be happy for a while.

    But february made me shiver
    With every paper I’d deliver.
    Bad news on the doorstep;
I couldn’t take one more step.

    I can’t remember if I cried
When I read about his widowed bride,
But something touched me deep inside
    The day the music died.

    So bye-bye, miss american pie.
Drove my chevy to the levee,
    But the levee was dry.
And them good old boys were drinkin’ whiskey and rye
Singin’, "this’ll be the day that I die.
"this’ll be the day that I die."

Did you write the book of love,
And do you have faith in God above,
If the Bible tells you so?
Do you believe in rock ’n roll,
Can music save your mortal soul,
And can you teach me how to dance real slow?

Well, I know that you’re in love with him
`cause I saw you dancin’ in the gym.
You both kicked off your shoes.
Man, I dig those rhythm and blues.

I was a lonely teenage broncin’ buck
With a pink carnation and a pickup truck,
But I knew I was out of luck
    The day the music died.

    I started singin’,
    "bye-bye, miss american pie."
Drove my chevy to the levee,
    But the levee was dry.
Them good old boys were drinkin’ whiskey and rye
And singin’, "this’ll be the day that I die.
"this’ll be the day that I die."

Now for ten years we’ve been on our own
And moss grows fat on a rollin’ stone,
But that’s not how it used to be.
When the jester sang for the king and queen,
In a coat he borrowed from james dean
And a voice that came from you and me,

Oh, and while the king was looking down,
The jester stole his thorny crown.
    The courtroom was adjourned;
    No verdict was returned.
And while lennon read a book of marx,
The quartet practiced in the park,
And we sang dirges in the dark
    The day the music died.

    We were singing,
    "bye-bye, miss american pie."
Drove my chevy to the levee,
    But the levee was dry.
Them good old boys were drinkin’ whiskey and rye
And singin’, "this’ll be the day that I die.
"this’ll be the day that I die."

Helter skelter in a summer swelter.
The birds flew off with a fallout shelter,
Eight miles high and falling fast.
It landed foul on the grass.
The players tried for a forward pass,
With the jester on the sidelines in a cast.

Now the half-time air was sweet perfume
While the sergeants played a marching tune.
We all got up to dance,
Oh, but we never got the chance!
    `cause the players tried to take the field;
The marching band refused to yield.
Do you recall what was revealed
    The day the music died?

    We started singing,
    "bye-bye, miss american pie."
Drove my chevy to the levee,
    But the levee was dry.
Them good old boys were drinkin’ whiskey and rye
And singin’, "this’ll be the day that I die.
"this’ll be the day that I die."

Oh, and there we were all in one place,
    A generation lost in space
With no time left to start again.
So come on: jack be nimble, jack be quick!
Jack flash sat on a candlestick
Cause fire is the devil’s only friend.

Oh, and as I watched him on the stage
My hands were clenched in fists of rage.
    No angel born in hell
    Could break that satan’s spell.
And as the flames climbed high into the night
    To light the sacrificial rite,
I saw satan laughing with delight
    The day the music died

    He was singing,
    "bye-bye, miss american pie."
Drove my chevy to the levee,
    But the levee was dry.
Them good old boys were drinkin’ whiskey and rye
And singin’, "this’ll be the day that I die.
"this’ll be the day that I die."

I met a girl who sang the blues
And I asked her for some happy news,
But she just smiled and turned away.
I went down to the sacred store
Where I’d heard the music years before,
But the man there said the music wouldn’t play.

And in the streets: the children screamed,
The lovers cried, and the poets dreamed.
    But not a word was spoken;
The church bells all were broken.
And the three men I admire most:
The father, son, and the holy ghost,
They caught the last train for the coast
    The day the music died.

    And they were singing,
    "bye-bye, miss american pie."
Drove my chevy to the levee,
    But the levee was dry.
And them good old boys were drinkin’ whiskey and rye
Singin’, "this’ll be the day that I die.
"this’ll be the day that I die."

    They were singing,
    "bye-bye, miss american pie."
Drove my chevy to the levee,
    But the levee was dry.
Them good old boys were drinkin’ whiskey and rye
Singin’, "this’ll be the day that I die."

What a mess . . . to bad its all about the money . . . guess have may head is in the sand . . . but care little for pro ball as they seem to only play hard the last 2 minutes before half and the end of a game so with all this termoil and money grubbin ruining sports (my 2 cents maybe 5 cents - all I can afford)
Hope big money doesn't ruin college game . . . Maybe I'll spend more time getting the fall crappie pattern right and drill a few hard water holes. . . . didn't think much of it when ACC and Big East and old Southwestern Conference did the jugglin act but it gets one hopping when close to home
