    Thumbs up morning of 6/3

well i finally had the chance to take the lady out on Thursday so we headed down to Truman. got on the water to the first spot we stopped at by 6:30 am. we were able to managae a quick 2 keepers then it was all shorts. she enjoyed catching them so we stayed until they the bite at that tree was gone. we moved on to another tree and ended up with 6 or 7 from that one, when the bite at that tree quit we moved on to the next tree, we kept doing this and ended the day up with 23 keepers, 4 white bass and a catfish. Oh yeah how can i forget about the sunburn on both of our backs wow not good. but it was a verry enjoyable day. i had her pick all the trees we fished and i set her up at the front of the boat with the poles to watch. i would stand up by there throwing my jig while she was using the minnos. when she hooked one i would net it, measure it and rebait the hook all at once so we did not have much time with all the poles out of the water. i only got 6 off the jigs, 3 made it in the boat and 3 got off right by the boat. seemed to be they were split on blue and white and black and char. it was plain to see that minnos were the bait of choice that the crappie liked. lol you all should have seen her fighting the 4 pound cat on the ultralight rod.... it was a sight, and she loved the fight. all in all a great day out on the water. could have had a limit if we got the keepers that came off at the boat but when you get out with people you love on a great day with no problems and you catch fish on top of it all.... well it cant get better than that. so i would say if your going to truman this weekend bring minnows hit the trees, we caught all of ours in 18 - 28 FOW anywhere from 8 - 14 feet down. we tried 15 FOW but didnt get anything and we tried 30 FOW and just got a few bites and one small. hope that helps.

    Gotta love it, great job

congrats and good job. the son and I are heading to Truman this afternoon (he needs to finish mowing the lawn, I know I know I'm a mean feller). First time out in a while so am looking forward to it. been working a ton of hours lately so a fishin trip is exactly what i need right about now.
We do not want the gift of a fish; neither do we expect a lesson on fishing; what we direly need is a chance to fish
