For all you guys with gardens, how do you control the vine borer? They got my pumpkins pretty good last year and killed the main plants. I was able to salvage the pumpkins after I burried the vines so they grew 2ndary roots.
I have heard Sevin Spray works, but the borer isn't listed as one of its insects that it controls. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Luke

i use sevin dust
I can only wish to be as good as my dog thinks I am
Vine borers can be controlled with Sevin, either dust or liquid, but...it must be applied before the borers enter the vines!
Once those little buggers get in the vines, insecticidal control is pretty much impossible.

Use Sevin dust. If you can find it get the 10 percent.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.
