    Those beaches are:

    ■ Lake of the Ozarks Public Beach 1 located in the city of Osage Beach. But Public Beach 2 near the state park campgrounds met the department standards and will be open.

    ■ Mark Twain State Park Beach. A second beach at the park, the group camp beach, met department standards and will be open.

    ■ Truman State Park Day Use Beach. A second beach, the park’s campground beach met department standards but is closed because of flooding.

DNR suggests that Missourians looking for a beach to visit over the holiday weekend can visit beaches at Stockton State Park or Hermitage Beach at Pomme de Terre State Park, which tested normal.

In addition, results from water quality testing at the swimming beach at Little Platte Park at Smithville Lake should be known later today. The beach was closed this week as a precaution because of possible contaminants spilling into the lake from a sewer treatment facility.

Heading to the State Park beaches on Pomme de Terre won't do you any good. They both passed on their E. Coli samples but are closed due to high water, the beach just isn't there.

COE Beaches on Pomme, Nemo is open sort of, it is fine on E. Coli, but the water is completely over the sand so its a muddy spot. Wheatland is posted for high E. Coli and not reccomended to swim in.
