Now them thar are some nice fish! Thanks for sharing with us.
Took Ms. Barbara fishing yesterday, my good friends wife. She is like a second mother to me and really enjoys catching crappie. We had originally planned to go the first Friday of May, but mother nature decided to dump a foot of rain on us. Re-scheduled the trip for yesterday, but had no way of knowing it would be a scorcher. Decided to tough it out and make the best of things.
We ended up having a good day. Spider-rigged early and caught a few, then switched over to trolling cranks. During the hottest part of the day we targeted the bluegill and had a blast. Bet we caught over 100 gills. Barbara even caught a nice crappie in 2 ft of water on a cricket! By the day's end we'd managed a nice mess of fish.

Wow, nice. I have a question if you dont mind. What cover were you fishing over, and at about what depth?
looks like the heat was all good.
You obviously made her happy. Reminds me of taking my mom out on the lake. Nice work.
Good things come to those who bait.
Now those are some beautiful crappie.
D
My Wife Fillets The Fish! I am a fortunate man.
good fish, way to go.
Seaslayer, the fish still seemed pretty scattered. I think the water conditions had a lot to do with that. While spider rigging we caught most our fish in 12 to 14 FOW. Pulling cranks, we caught them off drops and points.
Some nice looking fish, looks like you guys had fun.
Congrats on the catch.
Some good'uns Brad, you have been on em' down there. I know she enjoyed you taking her out to catch some.
BTW, in that first pic, is that one those 1/4 oz ledge jigs(big head), I want some for deep water on Cave
