    Default Fishing Smithville on 5-25

I took vacation day Tuesday, going to fish from about 11 or 12 untill dark.
Planning on camp branch side, going to work my way up past W bridge to the left.
Should be a nice day. I like cloudy warm days on the lake.
Those sunny days wear me out much faster.

Any hints on how deep to fish.
I would be happy just catching dinks all day.
    I will give a report.

During the tournament guys were catching fish in 15' of water. Brushman (the winner) fished in 15' of water and in trees. See the tournament link: http://www.crappie.com/crappie/misso...23-2010-a.html

Birddogs and I had trolling motor problems and fished under the W bridge the last two hours and caught 80 to 90 crappie but there were only two keepers. We had best luck at trees 8 to 10 feet.

I would have saved my day of vacation my friend.....the COE is releasing way too much water. Always, always watch what the COE is doing.

    Then fish in 8 - 12 fow 3 - 9 ft down.

Make sure you don’t get sucked down the Platte River. They are dropping it QUICK!

Go to rock creek, find some 5' to 7' water about 20' or so from the bank depending and fish about 4' to 5' deep. You will catch both dinks and some 10" to 11" fish.

    Well......hears my report.
I dilly dallied around this morning running some errands and when I got home about 10am it was sunny and hot. It was supposed to be cloudy today.
I kicked around going to Longview or Blue Springs lake but stayed home.
It was one of those wishy washy days where I couldnt decide what to do.....I know you have had those kinda days.
I did however go to Rodgers Sporting goods in Liberty and picked up some more of my favorite jigs and plastics. Slab Busters!
Also picked up some small Slider bodys for blue gill.
New 6' ultra light action rod and a butt seat and mount.
There is so much stuff in that store.......makes my head spin....I love it.

Thanks for the advise on where to try.
Hopefully someone will chime in and give a real fishing report for Smithville today....cuz mine is pretty lame...lol.
