    Default Portable Fish Finder

    Hello Fisherman,

I was wondering if you used one of the portable fish finder that have the suction cup so you can put the transducer where ever you want....Could you place the transducer in the middle of the boat but on the side of the boat?...Would the transducer still work properly?....

you will have to have a mighty powerful suction cup if you are going to get it to stay up on plane - just using a trolling motor it might do fine

you don,t have to use a suction cup transducer---tite-loc makes a lot of temp. transducer holders [clamp-on type]
get a catalog from them and look it over

have an Eagle fisheasy2 portable. The suction cup attaches to the back of the Jon boat and it stays attached when on plane. I also put it on the side of my canoe with no problems, though ti will be mounted side-to-side rather than fornt-to-rear. When I put it on my yak, I removed the suction cup screw and screw the bracket into the threaded holes at the back of my boat. I tired putting the suction cup on the bottom of my canoe, but it would slip off every time I turned.

Simon Peter said to them, "I am going fishing." They said to him, "We are going with you also." They went out and immediately got into the boat, and that night they caught nothing.

And we act like this Nightstalking thing is new.

For some excitment, read the next verse. A special guest arrived, they filled their coolers and had a fish fry on the beach...in the morning. My kind of people.- Bowfin

    Hi Frank,

So, I could use a tite lock clamp to clamp it on the side of the boat?..

We used a portable Humminbird Piranha IV for a couple of years, no problem. Jus tmake sure you have a smooth surface to stick the suction cup to.
