    Default Smithville output

Ok either the Corps website is wrong or the USGS website is wrong.

Right now the Corps website says

    Daily Information

    Know the current lake conditions.
    Be aware of forecasted weather.
    Always wear your life jacket
    Date: ** May 21, 2010

    Lake Elevation: ** 867.99

    Normal Elevation: ** 864.20

    Outflow: ** 800 cubic feet/second

The USGS website charts don't show an outflow below 1000cfs since Wednesday.

Progressive Marine Insurance SUCKS!. If you hit a submerged object they will try to prove manufacturers defect....stay away from them.

yesterday the corp site had it as 8cfs,not 800...the usgs site is realtime.

also the the levels will read higher sometime because a heavy rain will cause the spillway to rise without any outflow....but not in this case,I'm sure its ripping.Just got back from taking the kids to school and checked the little platte going into the lake on my end.Its almost ready to spill out of the banks, where do all these trees come from?
You would think it would have been swept clean by now.

The weather will be nice Sunday, the rest will work itself out. I'm just looking forward to being out there.

One more reason for me to dislike the Corps of Engineers. Can't even update a dam website. But they can sure as hell run off people from wanting to rent a boat slip on that lake with all their stupid new rules for slip holders.

Rant over......Lee you can now wipe today's Diet Coke off your keyboard.:p

When I talked to the Corp a couple of days ago, they said that the were goign to start at 800 cf/s and may go up to 1600. The expect to keep the flood gates open for 10-14 days.

Crappie fishing may be bad, flathead catfishing and walleye fishing in the spillway will be good. will be good.
