A jackplate can improve your holeshot, cornering ,and topend speed. A hydralic one will allow you to get adjustments made on the fly, to improve as you go.
Anyone have a Fisherman series Ranger that they have put a jackplate? Did you notice any differences in performance? Trying to decide if I need to install one. Is it worth getting the hydraulic version?

I can't out-smart many, but I can out-stupid most!
I have a Ranger 617 and added a jackplate two years ago. My only thought - Why didn't I do this sooner? Great holeshot and added to top end (but at my age that isn't as important!) and the boat just feels like it handles so much better. Mine is hydraulic.
it will improve hole shot and performance.Ive ran them on 619 and my tourney partner has a 620 with a hydraulic jack and a 250 Ho Etec. Full tournament load the boat will run 63 mph on gps. Hydraulic is the only way if your going to spend the money.Let me know if you need any additional info as i sold rangers for sevral years.
