Thanks for the report Pete. I still need to get down there. Were they still catching crabs?
Got four reds to 25 inches and a pair of lovely flounder in the Deep Lake canals yesterday, but only one canal was any good. Several are filling in badly.
Dwyane, when we got to the Joseph Harbor launch, there was only one truck in the parking lot! Tide going the wrong way, I guess. It's going to need to flip for cast netting to be any good!

SMILE- A curve that can set a lot of things straight!
Not enough folks out in the marsh to tell. A few were crabbing along the bulkheads by the back-down ramps, but I don't know how they were doing.
I'd wait a while - unless you are going fish-fishing (Which I hope to do again over there tomorrow! :D).

hmmmm any shrimp being caught pete?
Not that I could tell, Gene, but there are some shrimp back there. The reds and flounders told me! :D

Thanks for the update Pete and Congrats on the catch..
Dwyane, Julie and I are heading down to Cameron in a couple weeks.. around the 5th I think. Gonna bring the popup camper to the jetty pier.
You can't fish with a hung line!
what about next weekend johnny?
Where are you cruising to, Dwyane? Hope it's nowhere near MC 252?
Went back to Rockefeller this AM - three little reds, and pas de tout!!! Lots of folks tossing nets and crabbing - the tide was falling a bit around noon, but it was pretty high and not falling hard. The big drop comes after dark or thereabouts.
The alligators seem to have recovered from Ike, if that means anything. With the economy as it is, I doubt there will be a season this fall. Maybe we could ship a few fiesty 12-footers to the White House and get some of their mess straightened out. :D
Pass a good trip!
