Late Fishing Report from Sat.

Hit a few Caroline and Dorchester spots early Saturday morning trying for a few crappie. Started at Marshyhope with no success at all. Smithville Lake next and caught 3 pickeral, saw quite a few bluegill, no crappie. Headed down southeast to a couple mill ponds I haven't been at for several years and caught 6 crappie from 7-9 inches and lost a really nice one at the shoreline. Windy by then and called it a day. Nice to at least see a crappie in the double digits in length.

No, I didn't try the pits. I looked on the map and am almost certain that I have been there before and have never caught a thing there. If its the same place you are suggesting it is a long walk and tough casting because of the trees being tight. Not a lot of open water.

Thats probably it , I fished it yrs. ago it was private and had spots cut to fish in, I do know someone that caught a mess a crappie there early this spring.
