The title of the book is "War" and it was written by Sebastian Junger. This book was written as a result of the author spending time with our forces in Afghanistan in the Korengal Valley, one of the deadliest places in Afghanistan.

Deep inside enemy terrority, the military has established fire-bases to limit the activity of the insurgents moving back and forth from Pakistan into and out of Afghanistan.

These guys are attacked almost daily and Junger caught their emotions as they struggled to stay alive and keep their fellow troops alive.

I found the book fascinating and enjoyed reading it tremendously. If you're interested in this sort of stuff, you might want to check it out.

Most of you have seen the movie "The Perfect Storm" with George Clooney, Sebastian Junger wrote that book also and later, Warner made it into the movie.
