    Default Crappie on a Cricket

Well I had a "first" today. I caught a nice speck on a live cricket. He was a nice one, too. Easy 1-1/2 pounder. We were trying to find shellcracker and bluegill when she surprised me.
Anybody else ever caught one on a cricket?

I have caught gills, crappie, catfish and green carp on crickets. If ever there was a universal bait for testing to see is biting, a cricket has to be it.

My girlfriend hooked a biggun today, it got off at the boat but just eyeballing it I'd say it was every bit of 2lbs, I knew I shouldn't have left the net in the truck!

Actually i was on the front deck running the trolling motor & my dad was trying to help her get it in the boat, he said he had his thumb just about in the slabs mouth when it came off the hook lol.
