Default They are hitting big time at Lake Argyle, Illinois

Went to Lake Argyle in west central Illinois Tuesday, Wednesday and today and took home a limit all 3 days. They are near the shoreline in 3 to 12 feet of water. You gotta find 'em but once you do ...WOW...the fun begins. They wouldn't touch a minnow at all..everything on blue/white and chartruse/sparkle tube jigs on the lightest head you can cast. And what a beautiful lake...timber all the way to the waterline and the fall colors are really starting to pop. If anyone from this part of Illinois reads this you should give Argyle a try before the weather closes in. Make sure you are legal to a fault with your boat...size limits..everything...the warden is there seems like all the time and he is polite but very picky.

    Default Jot These Down

Way to go, Kenny.....Write down your report on this trip for future references. Include the weather, water conditions, temps, depth, place, everything you can think of that made your day successful. So that way, next time you or someone you know go out to a particular lake, you can refer to that information and quickly establish your pattern for that day. Thanks for the information, and I may just give that beautiful lake a try.

Seeker..thanks for the feedback. Water temp 67 degrees...windy all 3 days....water stained...location- large coves off the main lake..best luck after 4pm....all caught casting very light jigs towards the shoreline...except for the school that moved right under my trolling motor...caught them 3 feet down...directly under trolling motor. And yes..I was thinking of Fatboy a time or 2 while jigs were catching fish...LOL
