    Default San Joaquin River 5/08

Going fishing to my usual spot tomorrow to catch bluegill and sunfish. Hopefully I'll catch some crappie and a few stripers or catfish.

I fished the river from 3 pm to 8 pm. I caught and kept approximately 16 bluegills and two largemouth bass. I released two bass and several bluegills because they were females or too small. At around 6:30 the fishing got tough so I switched from redworms on a baitholder hook to a Blue Fox spinner. I caught 2 large 'gills and two bass. The water level fell about a foot.

Which part of the river are you fishing? I am not asking for specifics, just the general location such as "near name of town" to figure out where you are on a map.

    By the way....

The 'gills are on the beds in 2-3 feet of water. The females are fat with eggs. They'll start spawning soon.
