Dennis, where is Plum Bayou if you don't mind telling? My spots have been busts lately. Usually fish the lakes in Huricane Lake WMA.

Plum Bayou has been pretty good lately. We have seen some 1.5 to 2.0 pounders in frequent numbers lately. Black and white jig with silver head in 3 ft. of water around any laydown. Leave the trees alone, they are unproductive!!!!

From the State Fish and Game site.
"Plum Bayou, from Highway 79 to the Arkansas River: Largemouth bass shorter than 15 inches must be released immediately."
Maybe that will give you an idea were it is? Looks to me like it is near Pine Bluff? Just trying to help. Ron

Thanks Ron, I'll look at the map and find Hwy 79.

It's right outside of England and Scott. Right beside Clear lake as well. It runs for miles and offers some great fishing at times. Deepest channel is around 6 ft. and shallows up to around 2-3 ft. Nice fish and not heavily fished. Water is shallow and warms quickly.

Dennis, is there a public ramp there , and is it marked from the highway, or is it one of those spots that you just have to know how to get there?

I see Plum Bayou on the map but it runs all over the place. What part have you been hitting?
There is a public ramp there but I wouldn't run anything bigger than a 9.9 or so. Shallow with stumps. I believe the highway is 256? Not sure, just know how to get there is all. There are signs posted outside of England to the AG&F launches.

Thanks Dennis, might give it try sometime , not that far from Searcy. I,ve got an older 25hp on my boat but it has plenty of experience with stumps. I'll let you know how I do If I get a chance to go.
