Hello crappie fishermen, just discovered your forum. I am a transplant to Eastern shore MD originally from Iowa which is a Crappie mecca. I would be interested in getting together with some of you experts if you wouldn't mind me tagging along sharing fishing hotspots. I fish mostly from shore concentrating on bridges, spillways, small tributaries and state lakes especially in the springtime. I will be trying a few spots with my wife tagging along tomorrow for the first time this year. I will try to post my results Sunday or Monday.

    Hi again all.

Went out Sat. morning with the better half. Started at Red Bridges with nothing to show except a small blue gill. Water flowing pretty good. Wife had us packing too much stuff to move downstream to find slower moving water. Went to Tuckahoe Lake and caught some nice bluegill and shellcrackers. Wife had a nice time catching a few fish and seeing turtles, frogs and a Balt. oriole.

After work on Friday I drove up to Unicorn Lake spillway. Caught 4 yellow perch up to 10 inch and a couple of pickeral up to 19 inches. All fish released. Saw a nice rainbow trout caught by a 12 year old fishing next to me with worms. Floating vegetation getting bad there already, I was surprised that I caught no crappie.

    I am from Easton.

Hope you all had a nice weekend too.

Thanks for the recommendation tear um up. I have fished the Marshyhope creek in Fedralsburg during the early spring with some limited success in the past. I will try it again this late fall and winter again.

Theres also the pond at Wye Mills too up that way and the old sand pits off of 404 on noble rd. I used to fish them when they were private now they are state owned and open to the public.
