    Default Boat Seat Pedstals

I purchased some new boat pedstals for my boat...I just purchased the boat yesterday..It is a 16ft bass tracker panfish....Do you think it would be just to drill screws into the boat pedstal to secure the pedstal?...If so any particular screw do better than another?.....I talked to the guy who works on my boat and asked him...He said it should be ok to use screws to secure the pedstal..

    Thanks

Yes, I mean securing the springfield boat pedstal to the floor...The floor is wooden with carpet...In my panfish the floor is low...You pretty sit inside the boat..

I would think a #14 sheet metal screw, pan head in the longest length you could stand would hold fine. I do alot with these screws. You should not have to drill a pilot hole. I edited my post because you posted while I was asking the questions.

You sure about it being wood? The reason I ask is that I just sold my 88 model PF-16 and it had an aluminum floor with carpet. That is a very good choice for a crappie boat btw.

I would use some self drilling screws and zip it in place 1 time. I thought the floor hand alum or THIN alum over some wood in the front deck?
