So many baits. Anybody recognize this one?

I dont know from Baits. I also dont seem to know from Crappie fishing.
My Truck is Broken right now, I'm going to school and will be back in Alaska for June and July, so I wont be fishing much this summer.
Is that bait I mentioned any better than another similar bait?
Anybody know from experience?

Been using the "Sliders" for about 10yrs. Very good little baits, especially for cast/retrieve method. Even though I have some of the CB weedless jigheads that are made for this bait .... I prefer to use the P&S Custom Tackle ballhead weedless jigheads. My main reasoning is the P&SCT weedless jigheads do not require you to bury the hookpoint into the bait, to make it weedless. The Y guard, and fiber weedguards, of the P&SCT jigheads, allow the hookpoint to be exposed but still protected from snags. When using 4lb test line, & UL equipment, you may not get the power it takes to bring a hookpoint thru the bait & into the fish's mouth. You may well be able to do so, I just never took the chance :D

There are other mfg's of similar shaped baits ... and I'm sure they catch fish. I've just got a good supply of Charlie Brewer Sliders, and haven't had reason to experiment with other brands.

I actually prefer the paddletail CB Slider, to a curlytail grub ... whether casting or trolling. Though, when using them for trolling, I don't use a "weedless" jighead

Very few plastics can move as well as sliders at the slow speeds crappies like. They work very well on Road Runners. With the RR's they are particularly good for smallies. Spike it makes a copycat lure called the Tubby grub that has excellent colors.

Great grubs, can be used many ways and all work. With the specials they have going right now it's pretty cheap to stock up on some.

What do you mean: "few plastics can move as well as sliders....."

What's the difference between a Slider and a Plastic?
If you have some examples I'll look them up at Cabala's or BPS.

He means the paddle tail of a slider vs a curly tail or similar...the paddle tails are killer baits and barely take any water moving to give the tail great action.

Go shopping at Culprit.com and get their Paddletail grubs. They'll put that slider to shame....same with the tubby.

great bait, good action at slow speeds. very versatile. I had a mold made similar to them.
