    Default replacement blades

Anyone know of a good 5 1/2 or 6" blade that will fit the American Angler Ultra? I know the Rapala blade will and it works fine, just not as good as the old AA 5 1/2" blade. When AA brought back the small blades last year I bought 6 sets and they don't cut well at all. They look fine but there's something wrong with the set or angle of the blade, just won't cut smoothly.

    .

I gave up on American Angler and Rapala a couple of years ago. I have the Mister Twister that seems to cut longer and fit my hand better. However, the one Mister Twister did expire after only about 2500 fish.

I had an old AA that lasted years and cleaned thousands of fish. After many years of dropping it and abusing it I had to retire it. It was a good knife. I just bought one of the new AA kind and hope it does okay. I wont be cleaning near as many fish as I use to clean since my old fish eating buddy passed away. I just hope this one works when I need it too. I hope you find the blades you are looking for, sorry I cannot direct you to where to find some

Thanks for the replies. The cheap AA isn't much of a knife but I like the Ultra. Runs fast and has a smooth cutting motion. Fits my hand well and runs cooler than others. I alternate knives after 50 fish to let them cool down. Seem to get more life out of them that way.

Grizzly jigs carries those replacement blades that you're looking for. I got a set from them a couple years ago and they're still cutting strong.
