    Default lake houston crappie

I will be in houston next week for business but was thinking about taking a rod down to fish afternoons for crappie. My hotel is in humble near the airport. Are there any good areas near there? I am unfamiliar with the area so the more detailed directions the better thanks

Lake Houston and the San Jacinto River used to be my stomping grounds. But, man has things changed in the last twenty years. There is a pretty decent marina on the north side of the road just over the bridge at FM1960.
If you can get a boat, go north from there up into Luce's Bayou; pronounced Looshes. If I could have my choice though, I would go below the dam this time of the year. They are really bunched up spawning in the rocks. I haven't lived or fished in the area since '94. Things could have changed drastically.
