    Question Vacation

A question for every one. If you were gonna take a 9 day (crappie) fishing vacation anywhere you wanted. Where would you go. Anywhere you could take your boat with ya. The wife and I are gonna do this this summer, maybe 2 or 3 different lakes. What do ya think.:D

Are you after big fish ( the chance to catch a 3 lbr.) or a lot of fish?
What month are you going to do it?

I would have to suggest Granada Ms. Oct 2005 big fish 2.67
    https://www.crappieusa.com/results/B...rnament_ID=309

    March 26 2005 - 11 fish weighed were over 3 lbs.

    3-27-2004 4 fish over 3 lbs.

I don't think the lake is easy to fish if you have never been there, so a guide or someone on the board and then several days on your own.

There was a 4.19 caught at Neely Henry Ala. last year and that lake produces good numbers of 2 plus slabs.

There was a 4.11 caught at Kerr - Buggs on the NC VA border April 8 th last year, ( Southern Crappie practice day) but there were no 3 lb. ers weighed in the tournament.

If I had the time and wanted a crappie over 3lbs. I would spend all my time on Granada. I am from NC and have never fished Granada. I also don't know if Katrina had an effect on it. If you check the tournament results for March and April tournaments on the CUSA site you will see 3 lb crappie
    do not appear frequently.

Good luck, I hope you get a lot of input and catch that big un.

I would say Lake Weiss AL. Been fishing there yearly in the spring since the 80s. I have two fish over 3lb on the registry in Centre AL.
