Drag you line behing the boat without a jig or anything on it for a few minutes and it will untwist itself.
I put some vicious panfish hi-vis yellow on a spinning reel 2 weeks ago and it started to twist up really bad. If there is any slack after i cast it curls up around the tip. the reel turns c.c. so i put it on the reel coming off the spool c.c.looking at the spool from the reel. what did i do wrong. Just been casting jigs with a slip bobber. and a little long linging with a jig.

Were you having trouble with twisting while putting it on? I have had great luck with vicious.
also spray you some line conditioner on it
Not long ago, I had the same problem. It was a small spinning reel, granted it was a cheapo, with a small spool/arbor. It didn't matter how I put it on or what I put on it. I tried three different methods/positions and three different lines. All of them a no-go. I got another reel, with a bigger spool/arbor, and no problem.
Wilbur,
Place your spool on the floor with label up and crank the spinning reel. Twist goes in but comes out to "o" twist.

Turn the label up and wind a few turns then drop the rod tip. If your line curls up turn the label down, reel a few turns then drop the rod tip again. If your line does not curl up then that is the way to spool.
