My shingles went away during hurricane Rita and I didn't need any ice.
I've known several folks to get shingles on a yearly basis. I'd highly recommend the vaccine.
If you get shingles, though, go to the Dr. immediately and get the prescription drugs to end the cycle quicker. They work.

Them rascals hit me about 3 weeks ago. Almost caused the Drs to reschedule my 8th chemo treatment. I got the meds and they got it under control. They do make me uncomfortable at times.
Try putting Listerine mouth wash (original) on the blisters. Let it dry and then put Desenex foot powder on them. I was amazed. The powder dries it right up. It only happened to me once - years ago. I remember that this worked. If anyone tries it let me know if it workes for you also.
