Default The Joys of a Rooster Tail

Have much luck with a rooster tail? It is without a doubt a lure I could not live without. My favorites are white and firetiger. Caught this bass as well as 3 others last night here in Charlotte. Using a 1/8oz chartruse/green with a gold blade on a 6' L rod with 4lb test. Casting to a rock bank.

Love in-lines sometimes it's all the fish want. I make my own so I don't worry about losing them

nice catch....thanks for the pics.....I fished with that bait 55 years ago back in Mississippi when I was 17. They called it a Shyster and it was very successful then also. Fish were so dumb back then. Spinning reels were just becoming popular and I had a Spinerex(open face). 2# crappie were common at most lakes.....Eagle, Dump(my favorite), Grenado.

Shyster Lures are a little bit different than Rooster Tails. The eye is a big angled loop that prevents the lure rolling while the blade is spinning.

Rooster tails are one of those lures that will be around forever, mainly because IT WORKS. I haven't used any in a while, but have 20 or so in my box, and tie them on when the bluegill are bedding up. Great creek bait also.
