is ml stand for micro light or medium light?
if ml = micro light them it's least stiff
    if it's med/light then ie's the stiffes

    Exclamation Stang ...

ML - UL - L ... are the "power" classifications of a rod. The "action" of a rod is more related to the amount of "flex" in the tip, and the rod as a whole.

    (resources: http://www.stcroixrods.com/content.asp?id=70 - http://www.fenwickfishing.com/menu.c..._key=43&cm=337 )

Explain why you want, or think you want, a stiff rod ... and what techniques you plan on using the rod for ... and what baits you plan to use with it -- then we can help determine what power & action you need. Once that is determined, we can then narrow down the field. ........cp

Most all rods are listed as: UL (ultra lite) L (lite) ML(medium lite) M(medium)MH(medium heavy) and H(heavy). Micro lite is in a class to their self. One thing i've found is actions can differ greatly from one maker to the next. Hope this helps ya.

IMHO rod actions or title change from rod to rod. Example Berkley ul is not the same as Ugly Sticks. So I would rather have rod in hand and feel it to determine which one I would rather use instead of going by the action/title on the rod. Just MHO:D
If in doubt, cross their eyes!!

Just MHO:D I have a ul rod that I can throw a 1/4 spinner bait on but have some M action rods that could just maybe throw that.
