    Default What type of reel for jig poles?


    I just got 4 B'n'M Buck's Graphite Jig Poles...these are the redesigned ones with the new stainless steel guides. I was just was wondering what type of reel that any you are using with these rods? Thanks for any info!

    I dont know if this is what you want, but there was an ad in this forums swap-meet/classified section. Doc Crappie is the poster ,He had several small bait caster style reels for the jigging pole. I hope this helps you out!
    I still use one rod at a time!!

    Shimano makes the best reels in my opinion. I'd use a medium sized spinning reel on those rods. Not the smallest size, usuallly the next bigger size works great. Shimano's are more expensive, but you get what you pay for.

    One of then new reels I tried is the real small underspin that shakespeare makes. They are very reasonably priced and is working great for me. They arent built like the high dollar reels, so you may not get 10+ years of use out of it, but for the price you can afford to replace it when need be.

    wont beat this deal. rear drag only four left. spare spool but they are reconditioned i have bought several from these guys all were great

    For a jig pole, anything that is light weight and holds line will suffice. I use the $5 plastic reels.
