Hey, everyone. I wanted to express our thanks to 2 guys who really made our first meeting. These fellows volunteered to drive up from Alabama, to share their knowledge and experience, and have graciously offered to help out, however they can.
Crappie Pro Brad Whitehead founded the very successful Shoals Area Crappie Assn. in Alabama. Brad spoke at the meeting about how they started their club, explained how they were organized and what events they participated in, and provided a lot of excellent ideas. In addition to being a great guy, Brad guides on several of Alabama's excellent lakes, and from what I understand from folks who have been on the water with him, he knows his business and can put you on the fish!!! Check Brad out at... SHOALS AREA CRAPPIE ASSOCIATION. His contact info is listed on that web page. Please take the time to express to Brad how much we appreciate his assistance, and if you ever want to load a boat with those Alabama slabs, be sure to give Brad a call!!!
Another treat at our meeting was the information shared by Johnny Stonecipher, the owner of the Rose Trail RV Park and General Store (9270 Riverton Rose Trail, Cherokee, AL 35616). Rose Trail is locate directly across from the Colbert County boat ramp on Bear Creek and the TN River. Bear Creek is said to be one of the best kept crappie fishing secrets in the country. In addition to an excellent location, Johnny has an awesome looking place. Be sure to check it out at ... Rose Trail Home. Let Johnny know how much his assistance means to us. Check him out!!!
A weekend at Johnny's Rose Trail RV Park, with a Brad Whitehead guided Bear Creek fishing trip would be AWESOME!!! It would also be a great way for us to express our appreciation to these great guys!!!
I would have liked to been there.
