I've had my 178c for about a year now and I'm vedry happy with it. Main reason why I chose it was because I could get it with an internal antenna. Save some $$ and buy from www.gpsdiscounts.com

Hello speck chaser, Yes I did get the Central Hot Spots software. Haven't used it much yet but plan to when I retire to Arkansas. The only two large lakes in Iowa (rathbun & red rock) aren't on it! If you get the software you'll also want the PC cable so you can view them on your PC.

I purchaced one for my new Ranger, sonar is simple to use and I am still figuring out the GPS,I ordered a Dvd on the Gps from Bennett Marine Video and should be here any day, should make charting a whole bunch easier than trying to figure out the manual, once I know more I will pass it on,should be sooner than later!
