Put that phone away! Grab one of your longer crappie poles and dig up a sand crab for bait. Go wading along the surf line until you find a place where it is a bit deeper. There are surf perch in there that look, taste and fight like crappie.

Go to k-mart, buy a cheap rod and reel, line, sinkers and hooks, etc and a cheap bait bucket, and some plastic PVC. Cut the PVC about 3 feet long. Get a dozen shrimp, stick the PVC pipe in the sand, hook the shrimp and throw the shrimp out as far as you can. Put the rod in the PVC pipe, sit back in your beach chair and drink a few cold ones. You'll catch something. Oh yeah, get a license.
