Anyone been to Chautauqua yet this season?

Since it is supposed to be about 70 degrees in WNY by the weekend, I was thinking of making the 2 hour run to Chautauqua on Friday. Has anyone fished it yet for Crappies in the last few weeks?

Nope, don't even have the boat out of storage yet, but I gotta imagine the water temps are still a bit too cold for prespawn action. We had night time temps down in the teens this past weekend, and it's been overcast, windy, and rainy since then - not a lot of chance for the water to warm up yet.

I'm giving it at least another week before I even try.

Well, I've had some fantastic nights catching them! while the last few nights haven't made for the best of fishing; crappies have been near (if not in) the canals for close to two weeks.

I would expect the crowds and the fish to go nuts this weekend.

sweet - I'm too far away to hit Chautauqua, but the warm weather this weekend should work wonders on the little local lakes around here. sounds like they're starting early this year - good deal!
