Default The day after Christmas on Toledo Bend

Mark Serbanic and I went for an after Christmas Crappie trip today and had a most enjoyable day of pleasant weather and cooperating crappie. We started out about 9:30 this morning and it didn’t take long for mark to get the hang of what was going on. He said he got more use out of his trout fishing fly rod in one day on Toledo Bend than he has in numerous trips to Colorado. We boated a couple of limits by 1:30 and headed for the lodge. We just enjoyed the beautiful day and saw some of my new friends from crappie.com that have been taking advantage of the nice weather to get out and fish. The pics are of mark Serbanic holding 2 of the 100 we brought in the rest are in the buckets at his feet. We didn’t have any real big fish today but all the fish we caught were in the ¾ to 1 3/4 range. If you want to have a great day of crappie fishing now is the time and Toledo Bend is the place.

P.S. Serbanic just came in and said that’s about 35 pounds of filets. YUM!

so far this year we have had the best of both. the lake is down 9 foot and i don't think it is going to change much with the amount of rain we are "not" getting. The fish should stay on the river channel and same pattern till they move to spawn in march.

Mark I want to go fishing with you! What would it cost for me and my wife to go out with you for whole day? How much time in advance does it take to book a trip with you? We live at FT. POLK and we want to learn how to crappie fish! I have crappie fished but mostly with minnows and have wanted to learn from you the crappie master.
I'll catch them all next time!!!!!
