    Default Norman 3-27

Went to Norman and fished/battled the wind for 4hrs+ from sunup to 11:30 on the lower end of the lake. Could'nt even get a nibble. Fished jigs, and minnows around docks in 3-15 feet of water. I even tried the hot hole. maybe I don't know what I am doing anymore.

The only fish I could find were suspended at about 20-25' over 30-35' of water. They would'nt bite either. I think the cold front from last night really set them back.

Water is stained w/ less than 2 ft of visibility.
    Temp: 49-53 degrees

This was my first trip out this year. The best thing about the trip...my boat is still running good.

Hope everyone else had better luck than I did.

    Default Norman 3-27

My second trip out this year. I fished the southern part of Lake Norman Saturday from lunch till dark with some small jigs and crappie minnows. Hot hole, docks, rocky banks, down trees, bridges, mid lake humps with rocks etc. Caught 1 small bass in a bunch of trees on a minnow. This was the last day of the pro tournament and the guy who won fished 1/2oz jigs and shallow running crankbaits on docks, brush piles and rocky banks. Cold front made em go deep. I saw fish on Lowrance but they were suspended deep. Not much fish but I got to ride around in the boat take it easy. Maybe next time they will be biting a little better.

    Default Same All Day

It sounds like it was the same in the afternoon as it was in the morning.

Good Luck next time you get out.

    Racoon,
I sure did. I should have went elsewhere due to the wind.

By the way it is hailing dime to nickle sized hail in Charlotte Sunday night.

I saw you come in, you were in a 16' johnboat, crappie tackle and rod holders? Looked like you came from Davison Cr? Looked like you had enough weather?

We was in the CC with way too many fishing rods.

    Default Boat

    Racoon,

That was not me, but I think I saw the boat you were talking about. I have a Crestliner CVX 182 with a 150 Optimax on the back. You know one of those BASS BOATS nobody likes.:D You were right about the weather...I had enough when I went in. I feel good though because I was able to give about 3doz minnows to a young fella (12) fishing from his dock. I think I made his day because he had just caught a 2.5lb bass. That was the only fish I saw all day.

    Good luck next time out,
    JW

I'd love to see a 12 year old with a 2.5 lb bass!!!! Glad you give him minners, maybe he'll catch the rest of them.:D

Got me a 15.5 year old that knows everything!
