Wow, glad I fish crappie instead of walleyes.
Hello all, I am new to this crappie forum.....very cool site. I am primarily a walleye fisherman but I have come to enjoy catching and eating crappies.....somewhat due to the reason that walleye fishing gets more and more difficult every year. I had very good luck late last fall on Big Creek. I fished Little Wall and caught 8913849238 8 inch crappies, Saylorville can be hit and miss....Brushy Creek has me stumped....I can not duplicate anything I do....All Rivers right now are raging...so they are out of the picture for a while, I live next to Ada Hayden lake in Ames....i had a few good years on it a few years ago and last year I got skunked multiple times. I am wondering if anyone has any ideas about any central IA locations and or techniques that would work in the early spring?
I am thinking to find the warm water....creeks that are warmer...possibly rocks catching some sun....any ideas on any baits either? I have always been a minnow guy.
Wow, glad I fish crappie instead of walleyes.
