I always just went to heavier jigs and still seemed to catch fish. Or at split shot a little above your jig. That is if you jig fish.
What do you change when the wind gets up on your lake?
Wind will be starting out around 12 MPH out of the SSW then going to the SW at 15+.
So guess I will have to hide behind the islands and try to fish there. Was hoping to fish the main lake, but don't think I will fight the white caps.

S. Red - When the wind gets real bad on my lake the only thing I change is the channels on my TV set I am watching. I can tolerate about any kind of weather conditions other than wind. I hate fighting the wind for boat control. High wind is about the only thing that keeps me off the water.

Well WE did not catch a fish today.
But man the wind sure did blow something up.. LOL It was J White... LOL Looked up and there is a guy coming straight for our boat. So i waved. And thought this crazy guy will turn the other way soon.
But he did not. And it was Jeff.. And I will say I know he had one fish.
so that made me feel bad. My wife and I did not get a bite.
It was nice meeting you Jeff. Hope to do it again and for a longer time.
Also found a brush pile that was 2 + times the size of my boat (2072 War-eagle) and droped a Ky rig into it around it and throught it. did not get a hit . And fish were showing up on it. The Brush pile was right on the creek channel drop Sitting in 25 ft of water and thd side droped into 30ft..

Hey Pete, nice to finally get to meet ya'll too - I felt like the m&m's
and Santa Clause in the TV commercial "He really does exist! "
I fished on till dark, and only got two strikes, but they were both right at
2 pounds, one a little under, the other a little over. I'll have to say though,
I owe it to you - I came prepared to fish minnows, but after we talked I
decided to give the crankbaits a try anyway... My temp gage was showing
42 degrees water temp. Was pulling around 1.5 mph,
and the two I caught, the lure was only running 15-16' deep, over 28-30'
of water. Guess I am still figuring out the boundaries of cranking.:D

Hey J White, that is a couple of nice ones! What kind of crank bait did you use?
Sure is 2 nice fish. Bet I don't show them to Marilyn. She will hit me over the head.. LOL
Also I would tell them the color of the vrank baits. But I sure hate to do that..LOL
And as for the M&M and Santa.. WEll i'm still not sure if I was there or not. See i had camo on and the boat is camo and you found me.. How in the world did you see us?
Guess I will have to work on that. Guys He told me it was us when he came out of the no wake zone and that was a long way off. LOL
