The area of the lake I fish has mostly whites. My buddy and I have caught a bunch over the years, however not many over around 2# 3 oz. or so. However average size is great, probably between a pound and a half and 2 pounds. I understand they catch bigger blacks in some parts of the lake.
Fiver,
I was at Robinson's lodge on the North end around the end of Feb.
I had two nice ones ( By my standards ) 1- 2.9lbs, 1-2.7lbs. I took pics
but I don't have putting pics on Crappie. com mastered.

I live on Toledo Bend and usually catch at least a few every year 17" and over with our (my wife and I) is 19". Have caught several over 18". Not unusual to go out this time of year and catch crappie with none to just a few under the legal size of 10" and many time gone out and got 12" as the smallest and ranging from that to 16". My first 4 this year came off my bank one afternoon about a week ago and only was fishing for about 20 minutes or so and smallest was 14". I usually catch lots of black crappie and some white, all of the 4 were white and next time out for a bit all were black, but nothing to write home about then.
