    Default Dock shooting rod

Any recomendations. I had a micro lite that I thought would work but my Nephew broke it last fall learning to cast. Not mad tho, time to upgrade. Whats your setup, where did you get your rod, and how much.

I tried using a micro light at first, but it was too flimsy. Need somthing with a strong backbone so you can get some velocity on the shots, to get the jig waaayyy back under the docks. I bought a G-Loomis GL2 Fast Action, Light 5'4". When you bend that one back you've got some energy comming out. I know $150 rods arent for everyone, but lifetime gaurntee, and its also my best dock casting rod too, very sensitive.

I had a couple of the Cherrywood 10 ft rods. They were pretty nice rods. They had the reel seat about 3 inchs from the end of the rod.

I use a 6'6" med. light but I do use a 5'6" for tight spaces when I need to. Its just what you get use to shooting with. I've seen guys use a 7' to a 4' so its you choice.

I've got a 4'6" microlight that I like to use. I also use a 5'5" med action and it does a good job.

I just bought a 5' Berkley Cherrywood after breaking about 6" off of a 5'-6". I think shorter could be better in tight spaces.
