    Default Doll Fly

The original doll fly made back in the 50, 60 and 70's. How many colors were there other than white, red and yellow?

They sure were popular in their day. Any other colors that you know of?

I only remember white, yellow, and black as the color choices. Never saw a "red" one.
My Grandfather started me out using them .... on White Bass & Crappie. He also used to mention the "Hadacol" ... but, I don't remember ever seeing one of those. Doll Fly's & Do-Jigs were the first "jigs" I ever knew about, or used.

And I'm not even sure if "Do-Jig" is the correct brand name of the jig I remember using. It had a elongated, rounded head (like a sideways U shape) ... and the tail was stiff bristles (almost like soft toothbrush bristles). And I only remember "them" in yellow. (probably because that was the only color my Grandfather had :p )

I think it was red with black body. The white had a red body and yellow a red body. What was the body color on black? White? We used to catch everything on them. I guess they were the first true jigs.

CP, that kind of sounds like the old Weber Crappie Killer. Great crappie lure.
On the west coast the Doll Fly was the first marabou I remember seeing. White, yellow & black. I caught my first crappie on a red & white Go Getter. That was about all the selection we had back then and now there long gone.
