    Thumbs up Delta crappie......

    .....still going fine.
Was just a bit rainy, windy, and generally grand stormy weather this w/e, but the crappie were still co-operative around the marina.

    Michael,
We were fishing around some docks near Russo's at Frank's Tract. We were tossing flies. Minnow (white and pearl) or bug (dark olive or black) immitations both worked. They were about the size of a jig about 1" - 1 1/4" long. Depth was generally about 1ft - 3ft.

Is the crappie bite better in the winter, I have heard the december bite is pretty good.

    "M",
I think someone more qualified should answer you. We seldom actually target crappie, but do get "sidetracked" to them, quite willingly, when other stuff is non-co-operative.
We generally fish the delta during the winter/spring months for stripers. Just a bit for largemouth in the summer. Our only advise is: THE SUMMER HAS A LOT OF FAST RECREATION TRAFFIC! Fast boats, skiing, etc.
