    Default White Perch

Switched up from crappie fishing today and did some perch fishing , didn't get out till 1pm had a steady pick on em was selective and kept 44 of many caught, had Gduck and my son crappie dude with me on my maycraft today. We also caught 4 rockfish (stripers) 2 catfish and 1 yellow perch. We had a bald eagle which saw many today swoop down and catch a fish right by our boat. Gduck took some pics he's gonna post. Fish were caught in 12ft. of water on incoming tide on shad darts tipped with worm.

These fish look similar to our sandbass here in Oklahoma. Sandbass look to have a few more stripes, but built very similar. Do these fish have very sharp gill plates??

No they don't have sharp gill plates they have sharp dorsal fins . They will live in fresh water or moderatly salty water , these fish were caught in the Nanticoke river which is part of the Chesapeake bay system. These white perch in this area go to pretty salty water of tangier sound and the chesapeake bay most of the year and make a spawning run up the rivers in spring , we caught these on there way up the river just down stream from the rt.50 bridge in vienna Md.
