    Default Crappie in IDaho.

This was my second trip out and we had a blast. We caught over three hundred crappie this trip. There was two boats with three guys in each one. What a day. I didn't have my camera with me this trip but the other guys took some. They will E-mail some pictures and I will share with you guys. Again yellow and white crappie tube and red and white tube was the colors. They were down 20 feet in 30ft. water. I do have a picture of the shore line we were fishing and I will share that with you guys.

Me with one of our crappie.

I'm glad that there considered a trash fish that leaves more for us who enjoy eating them. Trout is the thing out here. Most of them are hatchery fish and not fit too eat. I'll eat a Crappie anyday over a Trout.

No, crappie are not considered trash fish here in Idaho. They are wonderful and far better than any trout. However, we don't abuse the lack of limits here in Idaho. It is because they don't have to stock them every year. When some people come to places like C.J. Strike and catch 300 fish it devistates the fishery. I keep 30-40 and let the rest go. Now that reservoir you were at is terrible for crappie and will take years to recover. If you feel the glutinous need for 300 crappie please hit Oregon at Owhee Res. Did you fillet all of those? Did you eat them all? Too much! Sadly I think my dad and I talked to you that day and couldn't believe that you bragged about keeping that many fish. Just isn't good etiquette.
