    Default whuppin stick crappie rods

Anyone use these rods in the 12' length for spider rigging? Cabelas has them on sell for $14.99 each and they carry a 10 year warranty. They are basically a ugly stik from the looks and feel. Any input?

I have four of them. They are very heavy. Two of them the tips broke right where the white meets the blue. Didn't do the warranty on them because I couldn't find receipt.

I got a couple of them this year. They are heavy so I just use them for spider rigging.

I am buying three of them for trying spider rigging. I thought for the price and warranty I cant go wrong, and if I like this style of fishing I can always upgrade. I got the three rods for $14.99 each from cabelas and bought three shimano IX 1000R reels for $11.99 each from bass pro. I thought this was pretty good to start out with all for around $100. Now all I need is some decent weather to try them out.

Tried out the whuppin sticks this afternoon doing a little spider rigging and was very pleased. I caught 17 crappie on them and kept 10 nice ones. If they hold up like I think they will, I will get alot of use out of them. One thing I noticed was the soft tip, I missed only a couple of bites before I got the rod picked up. The rods I was using before today were just some of my other shorter rods and it seemed like I missed as many or more than I was catching. It could of just been the day, maybe the fish were more aggressive. Time will tell.

They seem to be decent rods but I don't troll and it's too heavy to jig with. If you are spider rigging they should work pretty well.
